Josh Oduro also follows English to Providence
Oduro becomes the second George Mason player to transfer to the Friars
First freshman Justyn Fernandez left to follow Kim English, now grad transfer Josh Oduro will do the same and use his last year of eligibility to play at Providence. Oduro is coming off back to back first team All-A-10 selections while averaging 15.6 PPG and 7.9 RPG this past season. It’s a little less sad for Mason fans to watch Oduro leave than a promising freshman because at least we got him for four seasons and saw him rise to be one of the best bigs in the conference. I had thought even before the coaching change that he may leave for a bigger NIL deal or a pro opportunity.

I’ll be curious to see how his game translates to the Big East, which will be a much improved conference next season will all the coaching changes. Mason on the other hand will look to hire a new coach probably within the next couple of days as there will be plenty of roster spots to fill. Remember that Oduro’s brother Peter was holding a scholarship last year as well and this move most likely means his spot will open as well for next season. Right now Devin Dinkins and Malik Henry seem to be the only active players from last season that haven’t yet announced intentions of transferring.
Keeping my fingers crossed that a new coach will be able to keep Devin and Malik. Enjoyed watching them play. The would be a good foundation for next year's team.
