Keyshawn Hall is back in the transfer portal after one season at George Mason
The 6'7" forward is also testing the waters for the NBA draft
Sophomore forward and leading scorer Keyshawn Hall are leaving for the portal just after one season. Hall was one of Tony Skinn’s first ‘great gets’ in the portal during his first summer as many programs were after Hall, initially out of UNLV. He came into Mason’s program and dropped a ton of weight to slim down and become one of the more dynamic scorers in the Atlantic 10 (17.2 PPG). Now he’s back in the portal and going through the NBA draft evaluation process, you may remember Josh Oduro did this a few years back as well.
NIL was used to help get Hall to Mason, so isn’t much of a surprise that he’s out again looking for another deal. Skinn mentioned in a presser towards the end of the season that some players had been already focused on going into the portal and rumors pointed to Hall. It is the risk programs like Mason take now if they want to stay competitive in the new college hoops landscape. Skinn was able to turn around a roster in less time last year so it shouldn’t be a problem to him to address these departures. It makes you wonder how many one year type players we will continue to see here with the transfer portal being what it is.
